Team news

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i and the University of Tennessee at Martin have agreed to play a single football game in 2016. The teams will meet Sept. 10, 2016 at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.

The schools have never met on the football field.

The Skyhawks are member of the Football Championship Subdivision’s Ohio Valley Conference. Last season, UTM finished last season with a 6-6 record and tied for third in the OVC.

UT Martin is UH’s fourth non-conference opponent in 2016. The Rainbow Warriors are scheduled to play at Michigan (Sept. 3) and at Arizona (Sept. 17) and will host Massachusetts (Nov. 26) to close out the regular season.
